Sunday evening and back to work tomorrow. Ive just uploaded this valentine card I made for my husband, using my Craft Robo. I downloaded the GSD files for the background shapes from mamaws legacy. This is a great site for buying and getting free cutting files from. They're cut from manilla card and given a vintage look by rubbing over the surface with distress inks in tea dye and burlap. I've used a script background stamp to add interest, then layered the shapes onto a piece of Kay & Co paper. I converted the bird shapes into a GSD file myself. They're cut from thin card and embossed with opaque white.

Here's a 'digital dabble' I made after being inspired by a digital collage tutorial, written by Penny Bearcroft, in the Sept.09 issue of Craft Stamper Magazine. I've used different images and not taken it as far as Penny but I found her instructions easy to follow and certainly learnt a few techniques.

Darling June

I've just decided to upload this digital collage of my lovely mum. I've used a photo of her as a little girl, when she was evacuated to relatives in the country during the 2nd World War.
I've been having a go using layers in PSE and have used a letter written to my mum, from my grandfather when he was a soldier, stationed abroad. I've also used overlays from CottageArts. The final piece of work was printed onto Lazertran Paper and transferred onto an A4 canvas.

Just spent a most enjoyable afternoon 'book making' with my good friend, Sandy D. Our aim was to use up some oriental style papers and embellishments we had both been hoarding. My book's not quite completed yet, so I shall enjoy putting the finishing touches to it later. What a great way to spend an afternoon.
