A Good Book FSC #27

Another case of better late than never. It's time for Fashionable Stamping Challenges # 27 'Anything Goes' and I'm just about in time to post this tag I've just finished. It's been 'part made' for some time but needed a little more attention. The stamp I've used is from La Blanche, I love this little chap sitting on a toadstool with his books. The background foliage is from an Artemio set and I've used a variety of Distress Inks for colour. Some distressing and a few embellishments in a 'Holtz' ian style completes the look x

CC2 Studio L3 Perfect Pearls Mist

The challenge over at lovely Linda's Studio L3 this week is to produce something using the Perfect Pearls Mist technique from Tim Holtz's Compendium of Curiosities Volume two. Full details of this technique can be found on page 54. My entry is a little photo book I had free with a magazine. It's been lying around for ages just waiting to be altered. This was also a great opportunity to get my Pazzles Inspiration die cutting machine out. The design is from a file by Pazzles, The large cog has been heat embossed with black DI, the smaller one has been embossed with distress embossing powder. The large flower has been sprayed with one of Dyan Reavley's Dylusions sprays. I've mounted all of the elements onto a  background which has been embossed with a Papermania folder in a brick wall design. A few embellishments complete the project. x

WOYWW # 166

A busy morning so far, dropped my car off for it's MOT and then went to have my eyes tested. Hooray! new glasses downside... price! Still there's nothing quite like the clarity of a new pair of glasses so I shall look forward to receiving them. In the meantime it's WOYWW #166 and time to have a little look at what everyone has been up to. If you haven't joined in a What's On Your Work desk/table/space Wednesday as hosted by the lovely Julia at her Stamping Ground blog, then I strongly suggest you do. It's a great opportunity to visit fellow crafters from all around the world and if you do, I guarantee you will enjoy looking at everyone's desks whether they're neat and tidy or piled high with the stuff we all love. My desk this week features a couple of cards I've been making using some Graphic 45 stamps. There's one to send to my lovely auntie and one to stash for a future girly birthday.  In a few minutes, I'm going to clear a space and have a little play not sure where this will lead but I know I will have some fun. Jolly Holidays !

I've just finished this little suitcase using the Tim Holtz Enameled Metals technique from his book Compendium of Curiosities Volume 2. This is another one of my favourite techniques which I have used on some previous projects. Full details of how to do it can be found on page 56. The lovely Linda over at Studio L3 continues to take us through Tim's book setting a new challenge each week. It's great fun and not too late to join in.

Here's what the suitcase looks like inside. I've lined it with some stamped paper which I coloured with  Distress Stains before stamping with a large postage background stamp I bought some time ago from 'Above the Mark'. It so happens that  The Artistic Stamper Creative Team Blog  also have a challenge with a 'holiday' theme, so i think this may just fit the bill x

WOYWW #165

Good morning WOYWW'ers . What better way to start the day than by joining everyone over at Julia's Stamping Ground for the 165th WOYWW. My table has seen a bit of crafting action this week by way of a couple of challenges as well as a retirement card for my bee keeping friend in Wales. i was also trying out a bit of  distress ink 'painting' with a new La Blanche stamp I've acquired. The 'mess' is starting to build up on my table and you know what? that's just the way I like it ! Happy WOYWW everybody x

It's That Stamp Again ! FSC 26 Lets Get Inky and Messy.

I must say that this is the type of challenge that really appeals to me with words like 'inky' and 'messy' in the title. The lovely Fashionistas over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges have invited us to create 'splodgey grungy and totally inky' works of art. So my offering is this canvas, it's the third in a series of collages I've made using this phrenology head stamp which I'm still in love with and what could be better for getting messy with than Dyan Reavleys fabulous Dylusions Spray Inks! I firstly stamped a variety of images onto white tissue paper using Black Archival ink. I then sprayed the paper with several of the Dylusions colours. I also sprayed the canvas though the surface wasn't really absorbent enough to take the colours that well.After leaving it to dry I  layered the tissue onto the surface using  Golden matte medium. Once I was happy with the arrangement I gave the whole surface a coat of matte medium. to add a little texture I've used some Artist's Spackle through a stencil. I painted this with ink with a little gold Perfect Pearls added to it. All in all great fun and very messy ! x

Guilded Craft Glassine

I've just finished this vintage style gift box using Tim Holtz's  Guilded Craft Glassine technique from his book Compendium of Curiosities Volume 2. It's a great way to get even more out of your alcohol inks so check it out on page 39. Linda over at Studio L3 has been helping us to work through Tim's latest book week by week learning lots and lots about the techniques and products we have come to love from Tim and his merry gang. This week there is a prize of a $25 gift certificate from The Funkie Junkie Boutique so good luck everyone. I am also going to enter this into The Simon Says 'Hey Girl' challenge as a bit of feminine grunge !
I created the faux wood effect for the background of the box by using a wood graining tool with some amazing twin colour acrylic paint from Eberhard Faber. I think I will have to do a further post about this at a later date x

I really love making these 3d flowers with Tim's Tattered Florals Die. I think there's an endless variety of different looks that can be achieved. Check out this video from The Artful Splodger.  

WOYWW 164 .........The Big One

Well it's here not just Julia's fabulous Stamping Ground Blog with her WOYWW, but also the summer holidays or 'The Big One' as it's come to be known  in my house. As usual I am full of ideas as to how I am going to while away the next few weeks, hopefully that will include some time spent crafting. My desk this week is just waiting for me. I haven't got any projects on the go but I am building up to it. I'm still shell shocked by the busy last few weeks, so I'm just starting to unwind. A big Thank you to everyone who commented on my last weeks post. The art work was very well received and the comments from all of you really kept me going. On my table this week I've got some new goodies in the shape of a large Archival ink pad, a new mat stack and some fabulous stamps which I was lucky to win in a blog candy draw over at Jennie's blog, The Artistic Stamper, a few weeks ago. I've got my new Tonic scissors and some Klingon so I will be setting about mounting them shortly. I've also indulged in the clear alphabet and sentiment stamps I found in Wilkinsons, very reasonably priced.There's also a transfer of Emiline Pankhurst leftover from the doors  project. I'd like to incorporate this into something not sure what as yet. At the top left are a couple of files which I am using to put my stamps in. I've tried various storage systems and have returned to this idea since I found these ring binders with four rings and some good quality punched pockets. I use laminated card to put the stamps on. I find this method works for me as the stamps are easy to locate. It would probably be an even better idea to stamp out the sheet before laminating and to organise each file into categories, however, anyone who has followed my desk on WOYWW will know I am not that person, it'll be enough for me just to get them in the files ! Twelve Tags of 2012 July

I made this tag on Sunday but with all the children's art work needing completion it's the first opportunity I've had to post it. Although I've been really busy, I've been trying to fit in the occasional craft session as a way of relaxing. I would like to thank everybody for the amazing comments about the children's work they are very inspiring. Speaking of inspiring Mr Holtz has managed to come up with yet another great idea for The Twelve Tags of 2012 July tag. I've had a bit of a surfeit of red, white and blue after the Queen's Jubilee and the London Olympics, so I decided to go with these summer colours. I've used Tim's Mona Lisa stamp as it's such an iconic image known the world over much like the Statue of Liberty. I used black Archival ink which I wiped the off the background in order to make her really stand out. The Eiffel Tower stamp is by Clarity Stamps. I think Leonardo would have enjoyed meeting Tim and the gang as I'm sure he would have been fascinated with all the wonderful inks, paints and stamps they've developed! x

WOYWW #163

It's WOYWW time again and an opportunity provided by the lovely Julia at her Stamping Ground blog, to show the world what's on your work table .Well mine is taken up with the final piece of children's art work which I've just finished sewing together, with some difficulty manoeuvring it under my poor sewing machine.   This is the third wall hanging and completes the project. The children made these doors using lots of braids and ribbons. Behind each door is a transferred picture, some are of the children and others contain pictures of people who we considered to have made a 'difference.' I'm looking forward to delivering it and seeing the childrens'  faces! I'd better get ready for work, not many more days left now before the end of term.  Have a Fab WOYWW and see you all next week x

Oriental Domino Pendant for FSC #25

I've got just enough time to post this before The Fashionable Stamping Challenges 'Oriental' #25 challenge closes. I bought a few dominoes from The Artistic Stamper some time ago and felt that the oriental theme would be  perfect  for my first altered domino piece of art. I even got to use my Dremel for the first time to drill the holes! I've used alcohol inks for the background and stamped the Japanese figure with black Archival ink. The stamp was a freebie from Craft Stamper magazine. I made several attempts before I got the effect I wanted, fortunately it's easy to wipe the ink off and start again. I used Promarkers and  gold pen to add some detail before covering the surface with Glossy Accents. It's so hard to wait for that stuff to dry completely before handling it. I've ruined many a piece of work by being impatient. The beads and chain are from my growing collection of cheap and cheerful jewellery I've been buying specifically for altering. There's some great pieces out there loaded with beads and charms. The sun on my pendant is actually a punched circle from a tomato paste tube. I was going to use the gold side but I  like this pink and green circle as it looks rather  like a setting sun. x

Dragonfly Dreams

I hope I may be just in time to post my entry for the Compendium of Curiosities Volume 2 challenge over at Linda's Studio L3. The challenge has been running for the last two weeks and the entries are amazing. I'm annoyed with myself that I've missed a couple of the challenges as I've really been enjoying working through Tim's book. Paid work has had to take priority recently. So here's my answer to the challenge, not a whole Configuration box but a little box I've had for a while. I cut a rectangle shape out of the lid and proceeded to cover it according to Tim's instructions on page 33 of CC2. A most excellent book might I add. After covering the inside of my box with some Chinese paper, I decided to make a collaged landscape with various other papers including some stamped tissue paper and a piece of an old dictionary with the definition of 'dragonfly'. The dragonfly and 'moth' were cut from thin copper sheet using a Spellbinders die. I gave them a verdigris finish with some patinating fluid I've had for ages. As I've used several layers in this piece I'm also going to enter it into Simon Says Stamp and Show which is all about layers this week, that's handy! x

WOYWW 162

Good morning WOYWW buddies, I've missed you all after being unable to join in Julia's WOYWW  at  her Stamping Ground Blog, but I don't want to slip off the radar so here I am with a rather static picture of my desk. I've just sorted out a few oriental themed stamps in the hope that I can join in the FSC this week, so all poised and ready to go. To the side of these are some stamped collages I did a while ago, I was going to use them as book covers but several years later still haven't got round to it. I like just 'playing' with stamps inks paint etc with no particular purpose in mind, so I end up with loads of pieces of work that are stuffed into folders and boxes and never see the light of day. So my project for the looming summer holidays ( which cannot come soon enough!)  is to make a couple of Smash books and stuff them with some of my bits and pieces of work. Perhaps the covers will be used after all. Happy WOYWW everyone. x

WOYWW 160 Hurray My Desk is a Mess !

A quick post as I'm still heavily loaded down with work. I really missed joining in with Julia's Stamping Ground blog WOYWW last week and am determined not to miss it again. I managed to get a Sunday afternoon craft session in and here's the aftermath. I was doing my Tim tag and trying to make a few metal embellishments so there are the remains of a salvaged drink can and tomato puree tube. The can was a bit brittle and cracked when I was cutting out a number. If you haven't cut open a used tomato puree tube do so...now! the metal is soft and cuts easily with old scissors. It's also easy to emboss. Anyway I must press on Happy crafting everyone x

Twelve Tags 0f 2012 June 'Our Jack'

As soon as I saw Tim's June tag for his Twelve Tags of Twenty Twelve Challenge, I new exactly which photo I wanted to use. This is one of my favourite pictures of my son when he was a little a boy he looks so cute even though he's holding his 'cowboy' toy guns, (not very PC these days). It was taken in front of my husbands beloved old Mark 2 Jaguar when Jack was possibly 3 or 4 years old, oh how I wish I'd put dates on all those old pics, anyway he's now 31 ! I just don't know where the time's gone. To think that a photo of my son is now a piece 'vintage ephemera' makes me feel so old.  As usual the tag was a lot of fun to make with the usual substitutions for the Ideaology bits I don't ...yet... have. You've got to love all those lovely Tim bits and bobs, pity my bank account doesn't stretch as far as I would like. I'm pleased with my film strip which I made by stamping onto a piece of acetate, I'll use that technique again and maybe stamp some small images in the spaces. The little clock charm was carefully tied onto a beautifully packaged ATC I received from the lovely May, thank you it's just the job x 

P.S My husbands still got the old Jag and Jack is still pretty cute x

Tissue Wrap Flower Tag

Had to have a quick crafting session to stave off withdrawal symptoms! Life has been pretty busy lately so haven't had much playtime. I've missed the last couple of  CC2 challenges over at Linda's Studio L3 blog, so I thought I'd just get this one in.The challenge is sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique so there are no excuses for not joining in! The technique this week is to make these flowers using tissue wrap and can be found on page 37 of Tim's Compendium of Curiosities Book 2. I've coloured these flowers with Dylusions spays with a touch of Perfect Pearls Heritage Gold mist over the top. I've stamped the craft tag with various images using vintage photo and walnut stain distress inks.The leaves have been cut using a Pazzles file on my  Inspiration machine, and coloured  with  Distress Inks. A few 'raindrops' on the leaves using Glossy Accents completes the look. As I've used several shades of brown on this tag, I'm also going to enter this into the Simon Says Stamp  Show a Bit of Brown Challenge x

WOYWW 158

Just a quick post before getting ready for work. All you teachers out there will know that this is a very busy time of year, reports to write and things to  complete before the end of the summer term. I'm not sure how much crafting I'm going to be able to fit in. Still I couldn't miss WOYWW and a post to Julia's Stamping Ground blog. My table is covered with some of the art work I have been doing with children from a local school. It is going to be a fabric wall hanging and is based on the London Olympics. The children stencilled the fabric using masking tape to create their backgrounds and then stencilled the numbers and motivational words on top. The numbers refer to different aspects of the olympic games. Each child worked on their own piece and now I've got the job of sewing it all together and making each piece fit ! I'm very pleased with the results so far. I'm also including a picture of the lovely ATC's I received in the Swap. Thanks to Lisa, Jill, May and Ann I love them all x Happy WOYWW x

A Fine Afternoon. WOYWW157

                                 
I'm a bit late with my WOYWW today as have had quite a busy day. The afternoon proving to be far more enjoyable than the morning which was spent catching up on a bit of housework after a rather lazy Jubilee bank holiday. Thanks again to Julia for hosting the WOYWW on her Stamping Ground Blog. The ATC swap from last week was great fun I have just one more to put in the post and have received some lovely ones so will do a separate post to show these off later in the week. So what's been going on today, I had a great big tidy up after the chaos of last week. Note photo number 1 completely clear table! Not quite so clear now as my lovely friend Sandy from Sandy's piece of Heaven came round to play. It was my turn to set the activity so I decided that we would have a go at making paper feathers. I found great tutorial here at Todolwen there are some lovely ideas on her blog well worth checking it out. We added colour to ours with Distress inks and sprays by Dylusions and perfect pearls. Very absorbing and fun to do. So happy WOYWW to eveyone have fun x

These are my feathers, not bad for a first attempt, I'm looking forward to having another go at this.

No. 2 Steam Punk

I'm still loving this stamp! This is the second collage I've made using it and have decided to enter it into The Fashionable Stamping Challenges #22 'Steam Punk' challenge sponsored by Cottage Crafts The background has been sprayed with Rangers Dylusions in Squeezed Orange, Bubblegum Pink and Lemon Zest, great names don't you think! I then stamped the Phrenology Head by Lost Coast, in black Archival ink. To do this I first made a mask by stamping the head onto a post it note and cut it out. I then cut the top of the head off and used it as a mask when stamping onto the background. I then repositioned the other half of the mask above the head and stamped the top half to make it look as though the head  was hinged open. The cogs have been stamped with a Paperartsy stamp from a set called Clocks 5 . After layer the image onto a piece of card I stamped out the border strips and stuck them on, finishing off with some nail head style brads in each corner. These have been painted with alcohol ink in Pitch black. The addition of a collar and small button complete the collage. I am also going to enter this into Simon Says Stamp challenge which is One for the Boys.

Compendium of Curiosities 2 Brushless Watercolour

Just a quick post so that I can keep up with Linda's Studio L3, Compendium of Curiosities Book 2 Challenge 7. The challenge is also sponsored  by 'eclectic Paperie' with a $25 goods token! This week it is Tim's brushless water colour technique. This is a great technique for anyone that likes the look of watercolours but is terrified of painting. For full instructions turn to page 49 in Tim Holtz's Compendium of Curiosities Volume 2 and give it a go. I've created this 'vintage postcard' using distress stains and watercolour paper. The frame has some embossed resist flourishes and stamped rust marks. The stamps I've used for both the card and frame are by Artemio. The post card stamp I've used on the back of the card  is by Stampington. As with all the techniques I've tried, spurred on by Linda's challenges this is a lot of fun.

WOYWW #156....... Chaos !

Happy WOYWW 156! Well done to Julia for reaching this milestone. Three years of hosting Whats On Your Work desk Wednesday on her lovely Stamping Ground Blog, that's what I call dedication to the cause of crafting. Thankyou Julia, the time and effort you have put into hosting WOYWW, come what may, is indeed admirable. I've only been joining in for a short time and it's sometimes difficult to find the time to sit down and post, but to do that week after week .... well you deserve a medal ! As you can see my work table continues to groan under the weight of so much stuff, I'm embarrassed to show you all. Still I break up from work at the end of the week and I've vowed to have a MASSIVE clear up. Have a Fab WOYWW I've got my ATC's ready to post x

Twelve Tags of 2012 May Tag

Well I know I should have been out in the garden instead of up in the attic in the sweltering heat, but I couldn't resist getting on with my Tim Holtz  Twelve Tags of 2012 May entry. I hadn't realised how close to the end of the month it is. This tag was a lot of fun to make as there are lots of different elements to it. As usual I don't have all the lovely Tim bits and pieces so I've made plenty of substitutions but that's half the fun ! The sewing stamps were a freebie with a magazine and the 1920's lady  is by Graphic 45. The yarn holder was a free graphic download from Craft Stamper, which is still available on their blog. I stamped the tape measure onto a piece of woven tape and made the coat hanger from a piece of wire. I loved doing the faux porcelaine on the Prima flowers and had to stop myself from using up my whole stash! Thanks Tim another fun project x

It's All in The Eyes CC2 Challenge #6

What glorious weather! shame I've been at work all day, still got a nice evening lined up, a meal with friends at a curry restaurant  within walking distance of my home, not bad. So I need to get this post up so that I can join in with the lovely Linda 's Compendium of Curiosities Book 2 Challenge number 6. I'm really enjoying working through the book and have so far only missed one, which I have vowed to go back to. The great thing I've found about this challenge is that beside getting my weekly fix of crafting, I'm really learning a lot. When I first glanced at CC volume 2, I thought O.K nice book, lots of nice pics. It's only when you start using it, that you realise that there is a huge amount of content in it. Tim scores again! I only wish I'd been blogging when Studio L3 worked through volume 1. It wouldn't have just sat on my book shelf for the past year. Anyway enough said about that. This week it is all about tissue paper collage you can find the instructions on page 38. There is a $25's worth of goods prize, sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique, goody, goody! I made this canvas as my entry, it's the first time I've worked on a canvas. Lots to learn x

WOYWW 155

Oooo! I do love Tuesdays. Yes I know It's Wednesday but on Tuesday's I have the afternoon off work and I've decided to dedicate the the whole afternoon and probably evening and possibly night, to craft pursuits. There are a million and one other things I could be doing with this precious free time but they will always need doing. So I've decided to stop fretting and do something  at least once a week that I REALLY enjoy. The other great thing about Tuesdays is that it is the day before Wednesday and thanks to Julia and her WOYWW over at her Stamping Ground blog it means that I can share my work space with anyone that cares to drop by and I don't even have to stop and make them a cup of tea, although that would be nice according to the lovely comments you fellow bloggers have been leaving me. So have a poke around and see what you can see. Happy WOYWW x

Cities of the World FSC #21

I completed this tag earlier in the week for the Fashionable Stamping Challenges 'Cities of the World' challenge 16.  The background stamp of Venice is from an Elusive Images set I discovered  in my stash when I was mounting some new stamps the other week. I've had it for ages and it was looking rather unloved still in it's package uncut, unmounted and unused! The Travellers are from my newly acquired stamps they are by B Line Designs. I began by using  Tim Holtz's masked layered technique on a manila tag. I then stamped a map of Europe over this with black Archival ink. I stamped the Venice scene also in black Archival on a separate piece of white card. I then used distress inks and a water brush to colour the picture. I stamped the picture again on another piece of card in yellow Archival ink and cut out the roses. I added a little glossy accents to these and stuck them over the original ones. The Lady and gentleman have been stamped and coloured with DI. I then cut them out and mounted them on a piece of yellow card to give their profile a little glow. I  attached them to the scene with raised foam tape. The final embellishments are some die cut lace strips, I used the  Tim Holtz Vintage Lace Die with metal tape and 'copperised' it with alcohol inks. There is also a small stamped Italia tag pinned to the dyed ribbon. As usual I've gone a bit mad with the 'vintaging' but I just can't seem to stop myself. I must have a go at some 'clean' cards one day but it will be a challenge.

Shattered Stains

I have just completed my entry to Studio L3's Compendium of Curiosities 2, challenge number 5 This week is Tim's delicious 'Shattered Stains' technique,  which can be found on page 48 of his new book. It's another fun technique to do. I've made this brooch out of three chipboard flowers. After following the instructions in the book I layered them together and added a decorative button from one of Tim Holtz's Ideaology collections. I've also glued a brooch pin on the back. Simon Says Stamp are sponsoring this week's challenge for Studio L3 and I think I might also enter this into their 'anything goes' challenge. Well somebody's got to win .... good luck everyone x

WOYWW 154

Oh What a Beautiful Morning.... sunshine and blue skies and Wednesday again, already! Quick post to get my WOYWW picture uploaded to Julia's Stamping Ground Blog where you can join in and have a nose around other work desks from all around the world. I had my usual Tuesday afternoon crafting session so my table has seen a bit of action. I've got a couple of things on the go for different challenges. There's a tag for the fortnightly FSC challenge and also some chipboard flowers I've been prepping up for a challenge over at Studio L3. I try and join in with the challenges on these two sites as it makes me do a little bit of crafting at least once a week. I couldn't resist posting this pic of the clematis in my garden taken this morning. It's absolutely gorgeous at the moment laden with flowers against  a deep blue sky. Have a happy day WOYWW'ers. x

No.1

Here is my entry for the CC2 challenge over at StudioL3. This weeks technique is faded layers as described in Tim's latest Compendium of Curiosities Book 2. It's a fun technique to do I've used one of my new stamps and made the first of a series of collages I'm hoping to do using this stamp. The stamp is by Lost Coast, the mask I've used in the background is from Crafter's Workshop and the flourish stamp is by Crafty Individuals. I'm also entering this into the Simon Says stamp and show favourite stamp challenge, nothing ventured.....x

Early Bird ?

Good Morning WOYWW 'ers  getting closer to the top well about 100 places closer than last week. I'm joining in with Julia's Stamping Ground blog for her fabulous WOYWW. My table was pretty busy yesterday afternoon and here is the aftermath. I have a few new stamps and some old ones which needed mounting. I hate that job. but was itching to have a little play. One of them, the phrenology head by Lost Coast Designs, I bought this one from That's Crafty and I think will become my new favourite , I've started a little collage down in the left hand corner, though it's not stuck together yet. I can see lot's of possibilities for dressing him/her up. I was also following a La Blanche Stamping video posted on Art of Craft NZ. Great site, and I've started to have a go at her idea for tickets Oh dear, I can see another 'addiction' coming on! Happy WOYWW everyone x

Birthday Card

May is a busy month for birthdays with both my husband's and son's. I also noticed that Simon Says Stamp are celebrating their 3rd birthday with a blog challenge, so I thought I'd enter this card I made for my husband. I've used  several of Tim Holtz's stamps as well as a die cut umbrella man. I used a Kaleidacolor rainbow inkpad in Calypso to stamp with and then applied my usual walnut distress ink around the edges before mounting on black card. I'm not sure where I got the Happy Birthday Stamp from as I've had it for some time and have thrown away the packaging.  I stamped and coloured this separately before cutting out and fixing onto raised tape. Since I've started blogging I'm trying to remember to make a note of the names and makes of any new stamps I buy.

Studio L3 CC2 Challenge,

I Just had to join in with the Compendium of Curiosities 2 Challenge over at Studio L3. Each week a technique is chosen from Tim Holtz's second book CC2, this week it is distress stain marbling. For this card, I created two backgrounds and stamped on the lightest one with one of my all time favourite stamps. I just love the rather distant expression on this ladies face. I was pleased to find that she also just fits inside the frame which is from a set of stamps by Glitz called 'Laced with Grace'. A rather fitting match for her. I have coloured the roses with Distress Markers and added a little glossy accents. After a bit of vintaging with walnut distress ink, I went around the edges with a gold leaf pen, before mounting onto the background with raised sticky pads. This was then mounted onto a brown kraft card. I wanted to add a few embellishments but couldn't find anything suitable in my stash, I thought a beaded hat pin may be nice perhaps. x

WOYWW #152

Just got back from work so thought I'd better let you see what's been going on in the attic. Julia's Stamping Ground Blog provides all of us nosey crafters with a place to go and take a peek at each others' desks from all around the world. I've noticed that whatever size table or desk we have and whatever country, there is a tendency to fill up the space with stuff, reducing the actual work area to the size of a postage stamp! ok slight exaggeration A4 sheet perhaps. My desk hasn't had much going on this week as I've been busy at work. You can see a collection of number stencils I've cut on my Pazzles Inspiration, these are to use at a children's workshop on Friday. I'm doing some sessions at a local school and this week the theme is the Olympic Games. I'll post some photos of the finished work later on. It's shaping up nicely so far.
